Design & Consultation

Once you have booked your wedding date, then it is time to arrange a consultation to discuss your wedding cake. It is never too early to enquire about your cake, however as a small company dates are limited.

    • Consultations are held at my home in Monxton, Andover at a time and date to suit you including evening and weekend appointments; for a maximum of four people.
    • If you are unable to come to me, cake tasting boxes can be posted to you to try at home.
    • Do bring any items you have as inspiration for your wedding cake, colour swatches, pictures or details of dresses or flowers or even the invitations etc.
    • Consultations last about an hour, during which you will have the opportunity to try a selection of three or more homemade cakes and fillings of your choice with tea or coffee.

 

Following your consultation, a quote will be emailed to you for your consideration.

 

Luxury Flavours

Every cake is coated in a smooth and delicious layer of milk, white or dark chocolate ganache before being iced and decorated, for extra richness

Vanilla

Rich Madagascan vanilla bean Madeira cake, with layers of vanilla bean buttercream and homemade jam.

Lemon

Tangy lemon cake made with whole lemons, which goes particularly well with lemon curd and vanilla bean buttercream filling.

Chocolate Orange Fudge Cake

Delicious light chocolate cake made with fresh orange juice and zest and rich Belgium chocolate. Filled with layers of orange zest and Cointreau infused (optional) buttercream.

Red Velvet Wedding Cake Salisbury

American Red Velvet

Using a traditional American recipe the vivid red colour adds a dramatic effect when cut up, particularly when filled with vanilla or white chocolate layers.

Rich Fruit Wedding Cake - Salisbury

Rich Fruit Cake

An old recipe tweaked to delicious perfection, packed with dried fruit, nuts (optional) and citrus peel (optional) soaked in brandy, and matured for as long as time allows. Covered with a delicious layer of homemade Marzipan.

Banana Bonanza Cake

A cake stuffed full with banana, chocolate chunks and walnuts, it’s delicious with Dulce de leche caramel buttercream filling.

Special Dietary Requirements

Please inform me of any special dietary requirements and known allergies to any ingredients before ordering your cake.

A list of ingredients used in your cake is available on request.

Allergens: Our cakes contain some or all of the following: eggs, sugar, wheat flour, butter, chocolate, fruit jams, milk, cream, alcohol and nuts. I am happy to provide gluten and lactose free cakes using gluten free flour and lactose free butter, I can also offer vegan cakes. Nuts can be excluded from any recipe upon request, but cakes cannot be considered nut free.

No cake can be guaranteed to be 100% free of any allergens.

Alcohol is used in some decoration techniques; this can be substituted for a non-alcoholic alternative upon request.

Size & Pricing Guide

Each cake is individually priced and will depend on many different details.
A 25% non-refundable deposit will secure your booking, and for wedding cakes a second deposit is required 6 weeks before the wedding. The balance for all cakes is due one week prior to delivery or collection.

Delivery & Set Up

COLLECTION

It is possible to collect your cake but please note no liability will be accepted for any damage to the cake once it has left my kitchen. It is not advisable to collect cakes over two tiers tall.

Smaller cakes can be collected at a pre-arranged time from Rachel’s Cake House. Cakes will come boxed, and include details of storage and handling. Transportation of your cake is recommended in the boot of your car, or in the footwell, it is not advised to hold a cake box on your lap or on a seat during transport.

DELIVERY

l offer a personal cake delivery and set up service to ensure that your cake arrives and is displayed perfectly. Delivery is charged at a reasonable rate, and will depend on the time and distance for the round trip. The delivery will be discussed during your consultation and detailed on your quote form.

 
 

STAND HIRE

I have a range of cake stands available to hire for celebration cakes, cupcakes and wedding cakes. You are welcome to come and see the collection, or details and pictures of what is available can be provided. 

Stand hire is from £15 per stand, and a £35 minimum security deposit will be taken at the time of hire, and returned to you upon the safe receipt of the stand as detailed on your agreed quote. Packaging will be left at the time of delivery for the safe return of the stand, please ensure this is used.
